Miss Bunny Tardee by Tardee
Impressive out of Miss Bunny Nightshade.
Pictures taken June 3, 2010 at 24
years of age. She is the dam of
Rebecca (You Bet Im Cool),
Fred (Classically),
2 World Champions (Cool Miss Tardee and Clueman) and the dam of Caribbean
Kid.
1986 15.3 NH Sorrel Mare
My
favorite mare of
all time,
Miss Bunny
Tardee came to
our place at a
week old when
Homer Danielson
brought her dam,
Bunny Nightshade
to breed to
Impressivist.
She was a chunk
of muscle but
not very big.
Her sire was
Tardee
Impressive.
Her dam was bred
as a two year
old so Tardee
was her first
foal. Bunny
Nightshade was a
15.3 mare by
Sonnys
Nightshade by
Sonny Dee Bar
out of a Bee
Play bred mare.
The next time I
saw Miss Bunny
Tardee was as a
yearling and
what an
impressive
yearling she
was. I knew
then that I
could never own
her as she had a
great show
career ahead of
her as several
of the leading
trainers wanted
her. However, as
fate would have
it, she injured
her eye and it
became infected,
resulting in it
having to be
removed. It was
as a two year
old when Homer
Danielson
brought her to
our place to
breed, that I
was able to buy
her.
She spent the
rest of her 24
and a half years
with us. Up
until the end,
she still had
that gorgeous
back, high neck
set and all the
muscle you could
put on a horse.
The nice thing
about her was
that she was
balanced front
to back. So
many of the
Tardee
Impressives were
"front heavy"
meaning that
they did not
have enough hip
to match the
front. Because
of her dam, Miss
Bunny Tardee had
the big hip that
matched her
front.
During her
lifetime, Miss
Bunny Tardee
produced two
World
Champions. She
always produced
muscle and
correctness on
her offspring.
We have kept
Rebecca (You Bet
Im Cool) one of
her daughters
for a broodmare
and we also kept
her last colt,
Classically for
our future
stallion. Both
of them are NN.
You Bet Im Cool
is by Ima Cool
Skip and
Classically is
by Kids Classic
Style. With
them, , I intend
to continue my
breeding
program. Miss
Bunny Tardee
will never be
forgotten.
