December 24, 2016

The Green Bay Packers did to the Minnesota Vikings what Fred (Classically) did to his purple ball--------------deflated them!!! Next week the Detroit Lions for the division championship.

December 23, 2016

Fred enjoying our beautiful Wisconsin weather.

December 18, 2016

You have to be tough to be a horse and live in Wisconsin. 4 below zero and -24 wind chill and Fred (Classically) spent a few hours outside this morning. He didn't even want to come back in the barn.

December 11, 2016

Our first major snow and Fred (Classically) is enjoying it.

November 4, 2016

Fred is evidently retired from playing football for the Green Bay Packers as they have a big game today and he is "out to pasture" I don't know if after this "life of leisure" he could still get in shape if they need him and well they may.

Fred today. Leah Gloudemans took this pretty picture this morning.

October 17, 2016

Fred loving the fall weather!

August 17, 2016

Such a beautiful head.

August 13, 2016

Walking through the barn this morning, I heard some noises and couldn't figure out what they were. Well, it was Fred (Classically) sleeping and dreaming in his stall. He was making low whinny noises and his legs were moving. I wonder if he was dreaming of Green Bay Packer football season which started last night.

July 25, 2016

Fred (Classically), he is getting his winter hair and dapples.

July 22, 2016

We are headed for record heat and humidity today and tomorrow. We put the horses outside for a short time. . Leah Gloudemans gave Fred (Classically) a bath so I thought I would take a few pictures to show you how he has lost his golden color and is getting dappled. When I went outside with my camera, the humidity fogged the lens and I kind of like the effect on the pictures.

July 14, 2016

Some of you don't know Leah Gloudemans but she is my "right hand helper". She originally worked for Mike before he retired from the Senate and since then she has been helping me every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This girl can do anything. She can collect Fred (Classically) process the semen, handle the horses and even do yard work and clean the house. I don't know what I would do without her and I truly appreciate her.. I know that I would not be standing Fred for sure if she weren't here to help.

July 4, 2016

I think Fred (Classically) has learned a new trick or perhaps it is a new 4th of July dance. He sure has faded out and lost his gorgeous golden color. I was smart though, and took pictures when he will still gold. I will post them soon,

July 1, 2016

Fred (Classically) enjoying grazing outside today. Little does he realize that we are going to collect him in about 20 minutes. He is getting way too fat. Pretty soon he will be known as "Fat Fred."

June 29, 2016

We are trying to bale hay and we only have Mike and I today as Bob is on the day shift at the mill. It has been a very busy day with breaking down and running back and forth to the field to help Mike hook up wagons and take him something to drink. I sat down in my office for a minute and heard this loud banging noise outside. Looking out, there was Fred (Classically) pushing his water tub around. Evidently I didn't put enough water in it and he was having fun playing with it. I suppose he thinks he is warming up for football season but I noticed that the Green Bay Packers are not resigning some of their older players and I am afraid Fred may be out of a football job this year.

June 26, 2016

Trying to take my mind off of Olivia and Otis leaving so I gave Fred a bath this morning. Leah Gloudemans will be back from her week long vacation tomorrow and she is ery fussy about how "her boy" looks. Wouldn't want her to think I wasn't taking good care of him.

June 24, 2016

I am trying to take pictures of the babies today as Otis and Cooleah are leaving for their new home tomorrow and I plan to wean the other two. I have so many wonderful friends who stop over to bring me food and see the horses. First of all, Sandy Landsverk brought me some of her delicious chocolate chip cookies and I haven't even eaten any yet---I am proud of myself as I only had one Kit Kat so far. Then Charles Lauer and Shelley Lauer stopped on their way home from the "farmers market" in Oshkosh and brought strawberries. I had to try those as we visited and let me tell you they were delicious and healthy besides. I forbid Charlie to give any of them to Fred (Classically) but he kept looking at us. So, Charlie gave him some clover from the other side of his paddock. As you know, the grass always looks greener from the other side.

Fred is losing his pretty golden color -- getting sun bleached out from the fun.

Today, I had a visitor "from the past" Judy Schnese, stopped to visit and see Fred and the babies before they leave for their new homes. Judy and her husband, Rick did a lot of "horse things" many years ago. We would travel with John Schulz in his Dodge Transvan to Warren Ploegers in Iowa and we also made a trip to the World Horse Show in the van with them and Doug and Diane Diana Meilahn Baier. We drove straight through on the way home and Diane and Mike detoured at 3 AM so they could look at the Gateway Arch in St Louis. They were both smoking cigarettes and the rest of us were sleeping. Those were good times and we had a lot of fun. I think they were with us when John Schulz bought Reds Double Sonny as a baby from Warren Ploeger in Iowa. Mike video taped the whole transaction on our beta machine and we still have it. Well, Judy showed up today with a whole bag full of "Fred candy" They are gorgeous palomino horse heads made out of chocolate. I thought they were cookies and I had Judy give one to Fred. Of course, he ate it. I didn't know that horses are not supposed to eat chocolate and I don't think Fred did either. Well, he is still standing and still eating grass so he must be okay.

June 21, 2016

Fred (Classically) enjoying our beautiful weather today while Mike and I are baling hay----with the help of Dickee Richard Kaufmann of course.

June 18, 2016

I guess we all spoil Fred (Classically) around here. Leah Gloudemans is so proud because she really has him "being a good boy" but then when I tried to chase him around the arena the other day, the first thing he did was roll and get all full of sand. I asked her and she said she had let him roll so evidently that is what he wants to do now. And, as far as chewing on things, she really reprimands him if he grabs his lead rope. So, yesterday, I caught her pulling long grass and giving it to him.

May 29, 2016

I have been asked by several people what I feed. Well, Fred is lazy and I like to keep him in good shape. He is eating 1and 1/2 pounds of oats, 1 scoop of Doctors Choice Jump Start, 1 scoop of Doctors Choice DHA Elite, plus Jil HInd's Muscle Max and ProSeed. He gets that twice a day plus all the hay he wants. Our hay is a mixture of alfalfa and grass and we grow it ourselves. I also add Omega One oil to that grain mixture. He is outside all day eating grass. I don't think he has ever looked better.

May 18, 2016

Fred (Classically) this morning. The apple trees are starting to bloom and it is a pretty time to take pictures before the bugs start coming out.

May 11, 2016

Joe St Clair came over and we tried to take pictures of Fred but the horse is so lazy, he doesn't want to put his ears up. I think he looks better this year than he ever has. He has matured and his neck has stayed good with no work. As you know, I love this horse--he is so correct!

May 9, 2016

I took pictures last weekend because the weather was beautiful and Fred (Classically) is such a beautiful golden color now. Since he spends all day outside, I don't think he will keep his golden color all summer.

May 6, 2016

Fred (Classically) isn't going to be outdone by his daughter in the "leaping in the air" contest.

May 6, 2016

May 5, 2016

Joe St Clair came over today and we "tried to take" pictures of Fred (Classically) I sure took a lot of them and not that good of ones. I will post some later. Doggone horse, won't put his ears up and look alert when someone is holding him .And I couldn't get the light behind me in the pen we turned him loose in so their are many shadows. This is one of Joe and Bob Luebker, my very loyal helper and Fred.

March 12, 2016

Poor Fred (Classically) Nadia and her friend came to visit him today and because of my cold I didn't want to go to the barn and "infect" them. Fred loves kids and it looks like he is trapped behind bars in this picture that Lisa took of him and the girls.

March 1, 2016

The weatherman did not predict snow today but just as he does not predict rain and we cut hay and get it rained on, he was wrong again. At least it makes for pretty pictures.

February 1, 2016

Fred with his new birthday ball. Leah and I were having fun watching him play with it.

Fred loves his daughter Wilma.

Fred  playing with the toy that Leah Gloudemans brought him. Too bad, he shredded it to pieces but he sure had fun doing it.

January 27, 2016

Fred (Classically) got pampered today. Leah Gloudemans is taking such good care of him. I enjoy watching her call him from his pasture and he whinnies and runs to her. Today he got his mane and tail washed and hopefully he will stay clean until she comes on Friday and we can take some pictures of him.

January 3, 2016

This is what Fred (Classically) is doing today. If you notice, he has a blanket on. He did not grow a lot of winter hair this year and I was afraid he would chew the blanket up as you know how much he likes things in his mouth. Thanks to Raplast, he has been a very good boy and left it alone. I think he is daydreaming as breeding season is coming soon.

January 4, 2016

Temperature this morning was -15 with the wind chill. Leah and I thought maybe Fred would need his tassel hate when he went outside today. I think maybe Fred is trying to tell us that it is cold out there and he would rather snuggle in his stall.

January 3, 2016

This is an old picture of Miss Bunny Tardee. You can see where the big front ends come from on her produce. Of course, Kids Classic Style may have had something to do with the front end on Fred.

January 1, 2016

Beautiful day in Wisconsin and Fred is sure enjoying it.
